Sri Lanka Named Among Top Five Asian Destinations to Visit in 2026

Sri Lanka has been ranked fifth among the best Asian destinations to visit in 2026, according to a report released by U.S. News & World Report in the United States.

The report praises Sri Lanka’s rainforests, beaches and ancient ruins, while also noting that the country is less crowded than many other popular Asian tourist destinations. Factors such as ease of travel, affordable prices, attractions, food, culture and popularity were considered in the ranking.

Mount Fuji in Japan topped the list, followed by Tokyo, Palawan in the Philippines and Seoul in South Korea. Sri Lanka secured the fifth position among the top 20 Asian destinations for 2026.

According to the report, the top 20 places to visit in Asia for 2026 are as follows
